Film Institutions.

Your chosen movie
1) What film have you chosen?
Hunger games:Catching Fire
2) Why did you choose this film in particular?
I watched it recently.
Institutional background
Use IMDB to find out the institutions behind your chosen film. Find your film, click on Company Credits and then look for the production company and UK distributor.

1) What was the film studio or production company behind your chosen film? E.g. Warner Brothers, Paramount etc.
Colour Force.
2) Who was the distributor for the theatrical release of the film in the UK?
Lionsgate.

No brand loyalty
1) What genre does your chosen film fit into?
Sci-fci
2) How can you tell it fits that genre? Be specific with reference to the trailer.
Because it does things that rarely happen in this world in today's day and age for example letting people aged 12-16 fight to the death.
3) Is your chosen movie a sequel?
Yes.
3a) If Yes, how does the film use the original movie or franchise as part of its marketing?
They don't mention stars and directors to attract costumers because their is already a fan-base from the first movie and readers of the book.
3b) If No, are previous films by the writer, director or star mentioned in the trailer?

It’s all a matter of timing
1) What was the UK release date for your chosen film?
November 11th (UK)
Novemeber 22nd(USA)
2) When did the first trailer appear on YouTube for your movie? Find the earliest example you can and embed it in your blog.
The 21st of july 2013.3) What other examples of marketing (teaser trailers, main trailers, newspaper or TV interviews etc.) can you find for your chosen film from before the film’s release date?

It’s a social thing
1) What was the word-of-mouth like for your chosen film? If you can’t find tweets (probably blocked) use the IMDB user review rating or the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer rating to judge whether the public have given the movie a good review.
This movie is rated 7.7 on IMDB2) Find three quotes (no more than 25 words each) from user reviews of your movie to create a picture of what the public reaction to the film has been. Post them on your blog.
You have to have a strong stomach to stomach some of the things that happen in Battle Royale. Its like Bollywood was sugar coating the themes in Battle Royale and what do you end up with? A version which your granny can watch with you without feeling too offended. If that was the case then Hunger Games should never have been made. Well it shouldn't have!

Risky business
Use IMDB to find out the box office records for your chosen film. Find your film, click on Company Credits and then Box Office/Business.

1) What was the original budget for your chosen film?
$78 million2) How much money did the film make in the opening weekend?
$161.1 million
3) How much money has the film made in total? (Look for the subheading ‘Gross’ which has the total box-office earnings listed).
$409.4 million.

Summer Research Project

The news programme i have chosen broadcasts on National And International News with the abbreviation of ITV Daily at 10:00 pm and 6:30pm .The Presenter for the daily 6:30 is Mary Nightingale and Alastair Stewart. The Presenter for the daily 10 o clock news are Mark Austin and Julie Etchingham. The amount of viewing figures in the beginning of 2014 was 2000 viewing figures per episode on average. ITV has won numerous bafta awards and the royal society award and many many more such as the broadcast awards for the coverage of the bealian school siege.

The channel was established in September 22 1955. The organisation that runs the channel are the Independent Television Authority. The channel is associated with Independent Television News worth 23.2 million pounds (anually).

My educated guess for the target audience is around 60 % male and 40% female because boy are more intersted in politics and politicians or people who enjoy learning about politics.

Obama prepared to drop air strikes on isil in syria. RBS and LLoyds o relocate from scotlan after vote 'yes'. The ozone layer thickened the firt time after lots of years. Then a debate about the ongoing battle and ceasefire of hamas and israel.

I tiink the order is like that so the watchers can get intrigued from the beginning looking out for more interesting subjects coming up ao they wnd up qatching to the end.

Media Analysis

                                                                           Language.
The first key convention that tells the audience this is an advert is the CR7 sign. Hovering around the middle of the picture. The slogan right below the key convention which tells us this is an advert is 'THE EXPLOSIVE MERCURIAL IX PRESENTED BY CR7'. Through this we can also infer that the explosion is in the mercurial IX which can also be said as this brand is where all of the attention should lie , not only competing against but clearly declaring victory. Another reason on why this is a strong advert and attracts people to purchase a CR7 product is that Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro. The background of the advert is really dark which can tell us that Cristiano is the main focus to attract purchases , another good point is that ronaldo is such a well-known figure that his full name mus'nt be mentioned for someone to recognise this superstar.

                                                                            Institution.

The major institution for this brand would be Nike Mercurial. A clothing company that recently began selling electronics that help you progress in your sporting career. The company is worth $10.2 billion. The company was first established in January 25th 1964, but it was not called nike until may 30th  1971 after it was called blue ribbon sports.

                                                                            Audience.

The official target for CR7 was not found but, my educated guess would be football players as CR7 sells football clothing it would attract players of the sport and fans of the superstar himself Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro.

                                                                         Representation.

The representation is the famous superstar known worldwide as the second most expensive player on the planet from sportin lisbon to manchester united to real madrid who is the second most expensive player on the planet after gareth bale which is worth £85 million , with ronaldo coming just after worth £81 million.
